I started blogging back when I was 17 years old. No one influenced nor introduced me to enter into the blogging world. I was surfing the net and somehow ended up signing up for Blogger for the sake of trying out random stuffs online. I started blogging at the end of year 2004. Initially, my blog was for me to keep those poems that I’ve composed and after slowly getting the hang of it, I started to take my blog as my daily journal instead of a place to store my writing only. I’ve switched from Blogger to Xanga to Tabulas and finally settled for Blogger again. I wanted something simple and user-friendly, and Blogger was just what I needed. Little did I know that my blog was becoming my best friend throughout the years, the one who listens and will always be there (as long as there is internet connection and laptops) when I pour out my feelings and emotions. I finally decided to get my own domain name as a birthday present to myself and last 20th Dec, Estherchin.com turned 1 years old. Not being very computer literate, I requested for Satkuru to help me out in setting up the domain name for me on my blogger account. I also bought a custom made blog skin from Cindy for a reasonable price.
My blog is my passion. I love to write and I needed a space of my own where I can spill the beans and also get feedback from people who read what I write. My blog is a place where I write down my personal thoughts. I do not do advertorials. In short, my blog is my one and only true faithful friend, the one important thing in my life that had been keeping me sane all these while.

My humble blog is about my personal life and my thoughts; I don’t give advices or suggestions on my post unless upon requested. Although I have a feeling that the one way people had benefited from is that my blog did help them pass some time.
Honestly, blogging did not change much of my life but I did met quite a few interesting people who impacted my life in a way or two, helped me out when I needed it the most and most importantly, being there for me. Blogs are also a way of keeping up with my friend’s life especially when you don’t get to meet them as often as you want to.
In my point of view, blogosphere is made out of a community of various kinds of blogs. Some blogs mainly talk about food, some about professions, some blogs are for online shopping and some, like my blog, is a personal blog. The principle that I have towards my blog is that my blog reflects my personality and I there would not be much of a difference between the Esther that I portray on my blog and who I am in real life. Then again, not everyone holds the same stand as I do. When I come across an interesting blog, I would usually like to get to know the blogger in person too, Before emailing the blogger and getting to know them, I would usually go through their ‘popular’ posts and their self introduction page first so that I would have an idea of what kind of person he is before finally deciding whether to get to know them better. Some bloggers who I did not regret knowing are people like David and Jason.
My favorite blogger is definitely, Ben who knows I’m his biggest fan. I even spend my last year’s birthday reading through his achieves. He draws stickman comics and is by far the only website that could make me laugh so hard my stomach cramps. Oh and I stalk Edrei too. Edrei on the other hand, write stuffs that I am able to relate to in life, he’s realistic and I love to read his posts about love.
One of the sweetest thing that happened through blogging was when Ben draw me a personalized comic and sends it to my email just to lighten my mood up when I was going through my final examinations’ stressful period.
What irritates me the most are the blog war that people likes to start (and continue), where backstabbing is the main theme of their post. It really amazes me to see how people are so interested in poking their nose into issues that are ‘on war’ and even contemplate and discuss about them on their blogs too. And most of the time, it just shows how childish people are when engaging themselves in these ‘wars’.
