Cedar Point - Day 2

10 May 08
It’s 12.30am now and I just got back from work not long ago. Work from 12pm to 11pm today and I’m so so tired now. My back and feet hurts. Am beginning to wonder if I picked the wrong job position as a food host here in Cedar Point. Well, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. At least I’m not doing game host coz they need to talk all the time when on duty, trying to get people to play their game.
I still haven’t get my work schedule. Will only be getting it tomorrow. I guess if it’s going to be the same work time, I would not need to cook diner, just eat breakfast and 1 meal after that. Break time is only an hour, btw.
Did I mention previously that the water they drink here are all cold water??? I was really surprise when the café don’t serve warm water. It’s already so cold here, drinking ice water some more doesn’t really make sense to me -.- Also JP warned me about calling the African American, “Negro” coz it’s racist here and you can get sue in court if you say it to them. And yeah, I still donno how to use the washing machine and dryer. It cost 75cents per time. Maybe will just do it DIY, if not, will learn soon.
My jet lag is cured after waking up at about 6am this morning. Since work starts at 12pm and I didn’t know what to do till then, figured out that it’s best to call back
Got to know another girl from room E which is also friends with those from room A & B. She’s also doing food host so I thought might as well follow her out to Cedar Pint at 9am. We took the bus, reached Cedar Point and went straight to the HR department to get the bus schedule and employees discount ‘booklet’. Also found out that after working there for a month, we’d get 4 tix each FREE :- ) Come to
After purchasing it, I still had 2 hours to spare before work start. Eventually walk around the whole park to find the place I’d be working. Its call Round Up. Got lost uncountable times before ending up at my workplace. It takes 20 minutes to walk from Round up to Cedar Point entrance / employee cafeteria. So daily, I “exercise” about 80 minutes on walking to and fro during breaks and going to and fro to Round Up.
I guess that currently the worst thing about working there is washing the items. There’s a cut on my pointing finger, right hand now. After that incident, I started to wear gloves to wash . My job range from washing, cleaning the tables and chairs to prepare hamburgers, chicken fingers and fries. At least now I know the difference between a hamburger and a cheese burger. Hamburger is without cheese. Was so bust today. Had to stand whole day and my feet hurts . It’s like I’m so tired and the only thing I wish to do is to forget about everything, don’t wanna do anything else and just change into something comfy, wash up and then sleep.
Another thing about Round Up is that the floor is very very greasy and slippery It’s coz by oil that they use to fry the fries and chicken fillet. Sometimes I do find it hard to balance. Just hope that I don’t fall down and hurt myself within this 4 months. The freezer is fucking cold and it disturbs me to go in and take those stuffs out from it time to time -.- I never fail to come out of the freezer shivering while holding the stuffs that I need to get out from there. It’s really very cold outside anyway. Gets colder at night too. Ai.. not really use to the cold weather. Even realize that my skin is pealing : - (
Do you know that people in
P.S: I miss eggs. Would buy it and bread the next time I stop by at the supermarket so that I can have them for breakfast :- )
