Year 4 - June
Term ends today and she had just finish packing. Sitting next to her belongings she couldn't help the feeling- peculiar. It confused her, distracting. She had never felt anything like this. These thoughts were so silent it made her head ached.
It was precious that it bonded intangibly to her, a part of her soul. A feeling that she asked herself if she known. I do, she thought to herself. What ponder her was what made her gave it away.
She caressed her chest, softly as if she was touching her heart. Nothing. She knew her heart was beating rhythmically, but that did not matter. She closed her eyes.
Her fingers edged closer, as if she was holding an object.
The locket.
It belonged to her grandmother before it was hers. To her, it was more than a mere accessory. She felt worthy for it. Since then, she wore it proudly, knowing among all she was the one who received it. Perhaps it gave her courage, strength to accomplish matters. When items were considered as a charm for luck, she did not perceive it that way.
Now it is gone. She inhaled, claiming to herself that she had all the strength she needed. Her mind drifted.
Jack. She had never really thought about why did she given the locket to him. Perhaps he could draw strength from it, or from her. Or maybe it was an assurance for her, hoping he would return it to her one day. She wiped her eyes upon that thought.
This was the first time she nearly shed a tear for someone. Nearly, for a reason that she felt so unknown, just like the day he said goodbye in the
Her decision. She hoped he’d understand.
